The Voluntary and Community Sector in Swale was in need of affordable, relevant and local training, having been without a local dedicated service for a number of years.  It was a service that Swale CVS was keen to provide.  Swale CVS responded to the needs of the sector by going into partnership with two other CVSs in Kent to form a training organisation covering North Kent. (NKTS)

The organisation soon established a network of contacts and began to build a reputation for providing quality training.  When the three-year funding for this project ran out, Swale CVS wanted to continue to provide training, building on the success of the previous project.

Swale VCS Training was established in September 2007 to continue to provide training courses for the sector.

Joanne Burt is the Co-ordinator, she has worked in training for the Volunatry Sector for 12 years (previously for NKTS, RBLI and Mencap).
